Tip ~ Making Chocolate Curls

Chocolate tip

Chocolate curls can really enhance your cakes and other desserts for that special look. If you do a lot of baking, you may want to consider a tool like this Chocolate Truffle Shaver
made especially for creating chocolate curls.

I live in a small apartment where space is limited and don’t really want another gadget in my kitchen drawer. That’s when my handy dandy potato peeler is a good alternative.

I start with a solid block or bar of chocolate and ensure it’s cold. I hold the chocolate with a towel or plastic wrap to prevent the chocolate from melting from the warmth of my hand and then peel the chocolate as you would a potato. The chocolate curls as I pull the potato peeler towards me.  Voila, nice chocolate curls!
