About

8chocolate.com is born!

8chocolate.com blogI love chocolate! The taste, the aroma, the art form, the presentation and the love it gives back. It should really be its own food group AND it’s cheaper than therapy.

This blog allows me to share with you everything from chocolate reviews and recipes to cool packaging and display. The benefits of chocolate are too numerous to mention in a sentence.  A chocolate blog is born.

It’s probably not a good idea to start a chocolate blog when trying to lose weight but then I only need one bite to officially taste the chocolate. Yeah, right! Well, I have my partner to help me out with the excess. He worked in the chocolate industry for 18 years so he knows a thing or two about chocolate including tasting his way through LOTS of chocolate.

We live on the West Coast in beautiful Vancouver where chocolate shops abound. When we travel, we like to visit the local chocolate shops to taste their goodies and we like to find new brands of chocolate bars. I hope that readers will also share and recommend chocolates and shops they’ve experienced and weigh in on my reviews. Not everyone’s tastes are the same. I prefer dark chocolate and have some favourite milk chocolate bars that are far from pure but hold some childhood memories.

If you send samples for tasting, be aware that it doesn’t guarantee a good review. I will be honest in my critiques and when I can, I’ll have others taste test too. Advertising and sponsorship is accepted as it helps with the monthly costs of running the blog.

To contact me, you can email me at 8chocolateblog AT gmail dot com.

So here’s to a journey that includes chocolate, lots and LOTS of chocolate!
Oh, for the love of chocolate.

I just discovered your blog when I was trying out some Bovetti chocolate that I purchased at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport on a recent trip, and googled them. Like you, I prefer dark chocolate, but the milk chocolate with a very fine sprinkling of coconut was very good. Another good bet for some artisan chocolate is Paul A Young in London. They have two locations and make their creations onsite. They offer a wide range from very dark all the way to white, my favorite being dark/stem ginger. During fall and winter they offer very rich hot chocolate and during spring and summer very good ice cream. Samples are fairly generous.

Thanks for the delicious comments! The Bovetti chocolate I had was also really good. I interviewed chocolatier Paul A Young for my 8Q Interview series with chocolatiers.

and would have to say that these chocolates are mouth watering and it really
kills me that i can’t find some of them in my country, only the popular brands. Anyway, i hope to read and envy more of your reviews to these chocolates. May more chocolates to come! ;)

I’ve just come across you blog - very pleased to discover another one devoted to chocolate. I’m sure I’ll find some useful recipes to try out on my chocolate blog.
